VAN THIENEN

Rue de l'Enclume 28
1210 Brussels
+32 2 230 27 16

Founded in 1880, Maison Van Thienen has become, over time, the only Belgian framing house capable of offering more than 700 exclusive models, crafted using ancestral methods.

After three generations in François Van Thienen's family, the house passed into the skilled hands of Vincent Vercheval in 1986. A lover of the arts, he acquired the house with the constant concern to learn, maintain tradition, and elevate manufacturing to excellence.

Maison Van Thienen is internationally recognized as a reference. It has had the opportunity to work with numerous artists including René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, James Ensor, Franz Gailliard, Jean-Jacques Gailliard, Frans Courtens, Gaston Bertrand, Jo Delahaut, Léon Spilliaert, Antoine Mortier, Fernand Toussaint, Émile Claus, Alfred Bastien: they all contribute to its history, with some frame models dedicated to them.

The most prominent collectors entrust their works to Van Thienen, confident that they will be showcased to their best advantage.

Since 2021, Vincent Vercheval and his wife, Anne-Catherine Algoedt, have been joined by Marie-Caroline d’Olne, their daughter-in-law and daughter, whose skills and youth bring new impetus, models, and projects to the company.
